This shepherds hut was a perfect getaway treat for us. It was styled beautifully with all the mod-cons including an immaculate shower en-suite. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in for years and the linens were tasteful too. Location was perfect meadow surroundings. An outside sheltered bench meant we could sit outside toasting marshmallows on a gas fire pit wrapped in a blanket til sun down.
Tranquil and restorative.
A really nice peaceful area. lovely hut, super cosy and full of nice details. very clear instructions on everything you might need and the tandem bike was fun to try too. would recommend to anyone!
Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights stay here. The huts are practically plush and cosy hotel rooms inside a well made shepherd's huts. The owners went through a lot of thinking and planning to build them, and it clearly shows.
Location is easily accessible by public transport / car and one can get there in two hours from Central London door to door. Andrew's instructions to reach the property and check in were very clear.
There are so many joyful things to write about - swing on the massive tree, outside fireplace area / arbour , cute treasure hunt, etc.
We also had the pleasure of interacting with Andrew who was a perfect host. It was really interesting to hear him talk about the story behind the Stamford Cider Huts and the Pea Cottage.
Hoping to visit huts again soon, may be in the summer, when field in the front of the huts is covered by wildflowers.
Absolutely perfect. The accomodation is of the highest standard set in the most beautiful countryside location. Very comfortable bed, modern bathroom and romantic fireplace. We really enjoyed roasting marshmallows and drinking homemade ciders under the stars. Would 100% recommend.
We absolutely loved our short stay in Old Tinny! The location is so peaceful and quiet and the Cider Huts are fitted out to a very high standard with such thought to detail. The owners are really friendly and helpful and we will definitely be returning soon.
We had a lovely time in Old Tinny. The hut was well thought out from the little jar of marshmallows next to the fire pit, very delicious cider straight from the orchard left on the doorstep and the Prosecco hunt. It was set up in a way where you could choose how to enjoy the wilderness, the wood burner is there and kept us toasty at night but not necessary as a radiator is also provided as an example. Our hosts were really helpful, providing a list of activities and walks on the day of our arrival. We enjoyed Fred's favourite walk thoroughly (delighted to have spotted some deer) and stopped by Stamford for the annual fairground as recommended by Andrew and Janet.
Myself and my sister throughly enjoyed a quiet and relaxing couple of days. My sister Karen hasn't done a canopy and star break before but was amazed how well equipped the cider hut was. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and relaxing after a day out. The cider hut was in a lovely newly laid orchard which was beautiful and gives privacy. The swing was very enjoyable and we thought we were kids again. Andrew was very helpful and friendly, told us about walks and pubs in the local area. Burghley House and gardens was amazing, we would recommend the scone, jam and clotted cream in the restaurant. Stamford is a lovely market town, there is a cheese and deli shop that sells lovely cheese, olives, deli meats and much more. The Millstone at Barnack (recommend by Andrew) was a lovely pub, great ambiance and the food was amazing. The Prosecco treasure hut was a great addition, we were looking for the clues, it just added to how special the cider hut is. Loved the homemade cider. A lovely place to stay.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay in Old Tinny! The setting is so beautiful and the hut was exceptionally clean and super cozy. The beds are very comfortable and lots of thoughtful touches from the hosts made for an excellent weekend - we loved the homemade cider and chocolates! Check in and communication was super smooth and easy. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Wud like to thank Andrew & Janet for their hospitality on our stay at the cider huts, hut was immaculately clean & very high standard, amazing views & walks, thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish & wud highly recommend & will certainly be returning soon x
What a beautiful little hide away!!
Perfect way to start my husbands 40th celebrations. Easy to find, great communication from the owner. Everything in the Burgley Mouse hut was perfect. From the cosy log fire, hot shower, dreamy cotton sheets to my favourite part…the prosecco treasure hunt around the hut to find a key to unlock the bottle. Thanks for having us Cider Huts. We will be back in the summer.
We had a fantastic stay here. Couldn't have been nicer. It was magical. Lovely place to spend a long weekend. Spotless. Gorgeous area. Lots of little extras. The tandem was lots of fun. We also loved toasting marshmallows. Thanks for a brilliant break.
A relaxing experience.
Comfortable, clean and cosy with all necessities available. There is a rustic 'cider' touch to the hut. Surrounding views, including the meadow are beautiful. A variety of bird songs accompanied us including an owl.
We enjoyed sitting in the arbour at twilight, toasting marsh mallows and drinking our bottles of complimentary cider. I thoroughly recommend the cider hut as a break/ recharge from the busyness of life.
Perfect for a short 3-day break. Longer stays would require more space to store that extra luggage! Situated in an orchard in a quiet village, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Very close to Burghley House, Stamford & Rutland Water. Lovely clean accommodation with everything required for a short relaxing break provided. Would recommend - in fact we hope to return!
Myself and my girlfriend wanted to get a way for a few days and we really enjoy staying in huts. We spotted this hut in a location we have never been before so we booked it.
A picture/review doesn't do the Burghley Mouse justice.
We booked Burghley Mouse for a quick getaway, little did we know we'd be falling in love with this place. From the moment we arrived to Burghley Mouse we felt a since of relief, it was the first time we've gotten to really unwind and just enjoy our surroundings. Aesthetics alone left of breathless; from the beauty of the neighboring farms and fields to the cabin like structure of the Burghley Mouse, Brilliant! Is all I can really say! The fact that the host could build this place from scratch and make it the coziest home away from home is pretty incredible. Also the hospitality and generosity of the host is fantastic!
Also to mention, the bedding was very comfortable and the unit also have a full functioning shower.
We can't wait to be back in summer 🙂
What a delight! It was a magical stay full of beautiful details (a treasure hunt and marshmallows by the fire for goodness sake). So cute I didn't know what to do with myself. Wonderful stay, wonderful hosts…. Thoroughly recommended.
Absolutely perfect way to spend the weekend before Christmas, so nice get all cosy with the log burner on and have a couple of peaceful days away.
The hut had a very luxurious country feel to it with everything you need for a more than comfortable stay.
We did the recommended walk into Stamford and back and tried two out the three suggested pubs/restaurants, both of which were worth it.
I'd highly recommend the Cider Huts. I could have quite easily not left the hut all weekend.
We had a fantastic time. Janet and Andrew are really nice people and great at offering help. We loved the treasure hunt for the bubbly, and the chestnut and marshmallow roasting. Our favourite thing was borrowing their tandem bike to ride the farm shop. It was absolutely terrifying but no regrets. The hut warmed up quickly and we felt it had everything we needed. Good water pressure in shower too.
A perfect escape. Just like a luxury hotel room in an idyllic location. Lovely finishing touches to a beautifully decorated and well thought out place to stay. Wonderful location and both pubs within walking(ish) distance were fantastic for food. Almost don't want to give such a glowing review so that we can keep the secret to ourselves!
The cabin was beautifully done. Everything worked great but nothing felt overly modern or out of place.
Incredibly comfy bed and with the fire going it was very cosy, a perfect way to relax and rewind.
It was spotlessly clean and the whole experience was better than expected.
Will definitely stay again.
We had a great January stay in Burghley Mouse, the hut itself has everything you need and the log burner made even a very cold evening feel cozy! Had brilliant recommendations for where to go on walks and to eat. Perfect getaway
Wonderful location and facilities, a real treat for a short getaway - go on treat yourself 😁
We really enjoyed our stay in Burghley Mouse, a beautiful location, ideal for some great walks, one of which was Fred's favourite, the cider and the marshmallows were a lovely touch which we thoroughly enjoyed, many thanks to the lovely hosts.
We loved everything! It's an absolutely brilliant place to stay, I can't recommend it highly enough!
We loved our stay at Old Tinny. The attention to detail is fantastic and the Roast & Toast treasure hunt was such a lovely touch! The hut has everything you need for a relaxing few days away and we feel so refreshed.
Gorgeous views and beautiful place. So clean and tidy. Perfect for a little getaway.
Myself and my Partner had an amazing two night stay in 'Old Tinny'. The setting was idyllic, very quiet and peaceful. The Cider Hut itself was kitted out to a high specification and lovely little finishing touches to make your stay a fully enjoyable one. At the end of our stay we didn't want to leave and will definitely be going back in the future. Would highly recommend for a romantic break.
Had a fantastic short break away for my partners birthday. Little Tinny was well set out with all that you need for a fantastic stay.
The whole thing was made even better with lots of extra little touches, we enjoyed working out the clues to find the prosecco, toasting marshmallows by the fire and the complementary cider made by the host Andrew, our only disappointment was the weather not being good enough to use the tandem! We shall save this for our next visit.
There are plenty of things to do locally and we enjoyed both the walks recommended by the hosts, a trip to Burghley House and a wander round Stamford, which has many different places to eat and drink.
We look forward to a return trip one day.
Many thanks Andrew and Janet for providing us with a lovely stay.
Such an amazing place. Perfectly situated for country walks and easy access. The Tinny was lovely. The hobbit stove was so enjoyable and easy to use and toasting marshmallow on the gas fire pit was lovely.
Really loved the little clues for the prosecco challenge and the extra cider bottles topped off the evening. Highly recommend Cider huts for one night or many night stays 😁
We had the most wonderful stay at Stamford Cider Huts. The hut is tastefully decorated, cosy and warm, and the outside fire is a beautiful spot for a glass of wine at night. Great way to spend time out of the city and in nature. Would absolutely recommend.
As a treat for my partners birthday, it was PERFECT. Old Tinny was beautifully appointed with everything you need from marshmallows to hot water and a super comfy bed. Sitting in the arbour bench, toasting marshmallows over the fire pit, blanket round legs on a mild, calm, November late afternoon was just the best tonic. We very much enjoyed our bottle of fizz, rescued from the tin after the treasure hunt, and David's cider left on the step was very more-ish. We listened to a Tawny Owl and a Little Owl calling as the autumn leaves drifted gently down, carpeting the orchard with gold, yellow, green and brown leaves. The following morning a pair of Red Kites circled overhead. Warm and snuggly in Old Tinny with the wood burner going, flames mesmerising and the feel good factor superb. Great hosts in David and Janet, we were able to store our bikes safely overnight. We cycled round Rutland Water and walked a part of the Hereward Way under the big open skies of Lincolnshire. Afternoon tea and cake at the Central Tea Rooms then dinner at the quirky Tobie Norris in Stamford. Waking to the call of crows, fab view from bed, propped up with a mug of hot tea - just glorious.
Such a well presented and well-equipped hut with all the mod cons you'd need! Andrew and Janet were wonderful hosts.
So quiet, peaceful, comfortable. The bed was glorious. Lit the fire, was so cosy. Didn't even turn on the tv, just the loveliest place to curl up with a book and a glass of wine.
Treasure hunt was a lovely touch, as was the homemade cider left on the doorstep!
Met one of the owners and their glorious dog and they were lovely.
Could not recommend enough.
Such a lovely getaway! Everything was done to the highest standards and we loved the little touches of the homemade cider and clues for the fizz hunt.
Would love to go back again in the future
It was great. We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a trip around the UK for our honeymoon. With my Wife being 7 months pregnant we were UK bound. This place was awesome, very private, easy to get to, fully kitted and in general the place was awesome. Everything had been thought of with the cider hunt, fire pit, log burner, we even got an extra bottle of bubbly and some home brewed cider by Andrew! Will be recommending and maybe even staying again.
Burghley Mouse was a lovely stay, greeted with a Prosseco treasure hunt which was really fun figuring out the clues. The swing right next to the hut was super cute and very good for some photos. Our highlight was definitely the tandem bike which was included in our stay, we cycled to the local pub which was about a mile and a half and we had a blast. Toasting the marshmallows at night is something you've got to do, so warm and cosy. Andrew dropped off some homemade apple cider which was so good that we wanted to buy some! Amazing hosts, so helpful if we had any problems.
Lovely hut in a really beautiful spot - not even a power outage due to fallen trees could dent the charm!
We had an amazing time staying for 2 nights at Old Tinny. The Prosecco treasure hunt was a great way to start off our stay and allowed us to explore the beautifully decorated Shepherd's Hut and it's surroundings. We had a lot of fun cycling around Southorpe on the tandem and loved exploring Burghley House in the sun (only a 15 minute drive away from the hut). We went for dinner one night in Stamford (lots of taxi's available so transport was not an issue) and the other we chilled by the gas fire and toasted marshmallows. Andrew and Janet couldn't have been more helpful and provided some excellent recommendations. It was the perfect weekend getaway and we will be recommending to all of our friends and family.
We had such a lovely stay at Old Tinny for our Anniversary. The hut itself was clean, cosy and very well thought out. The location was beautiful with some lovely walks around the area. We had a perfect stay and can't wait to return in the future.
We chose Burghley mouse to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was quite local to us but a new experience that was so much more. The cider huts are in a newly laid orchard which gives you privacy but the feeling that is gives is exceptional. I don't think we have ever felt so relaxed so quickly. The huts are very well equipped with a luxury bathroom, great comfy bed and outside seating. Andrew the owner was very helpful but also discreet. It was a truly lovely experience Andrew suggested walks from the hut which we did and really enjoyed. It's not often in life that you have the luxury of completely relaxing and switching off but the ambiance of the location gave us everything and more.
Beautiful and tranquil spot, very comfortable bed and shower large enough for a 6.5 man to use
Would highly recommend and use again.
Old Tinny is such a lovely place to stay for a few days, looks exactly as listed and Andrew was a fantastic host, great at giving recommendations and very responsive. Would definitely recommend staying if you are after a very easy weekend away!
Burghley Mouse is a truly magical place. Everything about our stay was just perfect from the idyllic setting on the edge of the orchard/ wild flower meadow to the tastefully decorated interior.
We were fortunate enough to meet Andrew and from the brief chat we had with him it's clear the vision he had for the huts has been realised. So much thought has gone into the design and finishing touches at times it seems hard to believe you are in a shepherds hut and not a luxury hotel.
The hut has all you could need for a short break whatever the season. We stayed in the middle of an unseasonal heatwave but the fan supplied kept us comfortably cool, I'm sure the log burner would keep you snug in the winter. The bed was so cosy and the tv hidden in the cupboard was a super addition which was much appreciated after long days outdoors.
The shower room was spotless with a hot shower and lovely fluffy towels. The kitchen was equipped with a hot plate, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle and although we ate out you could easily prepare a simple meal for two.
A useful guide is supplied with details for walks, pubs and restaurants and places of interest in the local area.
The finishing touches are what makes a holiday stand out and Andrew as a host has put much thought into this, wifi, a mini treasure hunt searching for clues in the hut leads you to a bottle of prosecco, arriving back to find a couple of bottles of homemade cider on the steps, the use of a tandem to cycle to the nearest pub and back and the arbour with lights, fire, blankets and marshmallows to toast are some of the highlights of our trip.
I can't recommend Burghley Mouse enough and we are definitely hoping to return to experience it in the winter.
A place you want to re-book the moment you arrive. Sweet, quiet location just a few hours drive from London. The Caravan has been beautifully restored with every necessity and attention to detail. Andrew was very welcoming and even treated us to homemade cider left on the front steps for our arrival. What a great break from the city, we will 100% be back.
We had an amazing time away. The Andrew and Janet were great and the cider hut and surroundings were perfect. Lovely walks and countryside. Loved the swing and the fire pit and marshmellows. Hunting for clues for the fizz plus the cider that Andrew makes. The list is endless it was perfect. The bed was sooo comy with beautiful views of the orchards and fields. The bathroom was such a blessing and the little kitchen area. Just loved it can't wait to return x
A wonderful escape for the perfect night away. Beautifully equipped - 5 star hotel quality throughout. The fire pit was perfect for an evening of chatting, reading and drinking wine! We will be back. Thank you!
The Cider Huts are amazing and a real credit to Andrew, who came up with the concept. So comfortable and well planned out. The fire and little outside hut are really an all weather place to sit. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a night or two.
Couldn't be more perfect. We had the best stay and can't wait to return already!
We changed our usual 2 night hotel stay for working in Stamford to the most beautiful Stamford Cider Huts and what a perfect treat that was, I just wish we could stay there every time we work in Stamford!
Set in a stunning location of peace and tranquility the Stamford Cider Hut did not disappoint in any way.
Every detail of 'The Old Tinny' was perfect and so luxurious with the beautiful finish to the decor, a bed with plush bedding so comfy getting up for work was a challenge!
The treasure hunt around The Old Tinny was a nice touch with the key for opening the box found and a complementary bottle of fizz.
A log burner, perfect for the chilled out chilly evening and the complementary bottles of cider were just perfect.
Super fast broadband also helped as we were there for work!
The stay definitely didn't feel like work and we can't wait to visit again, we couldn't recommend this place any higher and if you get a chance to visit then don't miss this little gem.
I cannot praise the Cider Huts enough! In each of these two huts, Andrew and Janet have created a haven which is perfect as a retreat. The perfect getaway. The hut is equipped with everything you will need - there is a microwave, kettle, toaster, electric cooking ring..... the list goes on! As well as all cutlery and crockery that you could need. A cosy feel is provided by little touches such as the pretty curtains. The time and thought that has gone into these huts is so impressive - even a treasure hunt to lead you to the welcome bottle of fizz. I recommend the huts to everyone. An experience not to miss!
Beautifully decorated shepherds hut. Fabulous gas fired fire pit to while away the evening around. Very fun quest to find Prosecco by following clues. Also got to sample some orchard cider created by the owner which was very nice. Fab location for Stamford and Rutland water. Excellent place and would definitely stay again.
It was the best getaway I have ever had. The cider hut was immaculate and the decor tasteful yet fitting for the hut. The mini treasure hunt to find the bubbles was exciting and a lovely way to kick off our stay. The host gave us some of his delicious home-made cider too. The location was idyllic, tranquil and picturesque with many local walks on the doorstep. The swing, tandem and fire pit were all great ways to have fun despite being a grown up! The marshmallows, toasting forks and blanket were perfect little touches too. All in all, the decor, location and personal touches were excellent and I wouldn't change a thing. We will definitely recommend to our friends for that perfect romantic break. It really is something special.
An absolutely lovely stay. The most beautiful place, so photogenic. Loved the Prosecco treasure hunt, the cider, marshmallows by the fire. Couldn't fault the trip at all. Hosts were really lovely and had the cutest dog.
We had a great couple of days in this delightful cider hut near Stamford. The owners were very friendly and helped to make our stay enjoyable! The hut is located in great landscape at the end of an orchard and as a keen photographer I took the opportunity to photograph the wild life out and about particularly amongst the wild flowers whichaahd been planted about the orchard.
We really enjoyed our stay at Burghley Mouse! The hut was well equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy! The arbour and fire pit were really cute and the perfect place to sit and toast marshmallows at the end of the day. For those without wheels it's a short and fairly inexpensive taxi journey from Stamford. A really lovely place to stay!
The stay was lovely the cider hut was beautiful and comfortable. My wife and I had the best time ever and were totally relaxed. The owners could not do enough and were brilliant! Highly recommended for a quiet getaway.
A unique cider hut. Beautiful setting, clean, cute & cosy.
The shepherd's hut was the best we've ever stayed in! Everything was of the highest quality. Bathroom - small but beautiful. Bed - extremely welcoming, comfortable and cosy. The kitchen - so clean and full of everything we needed (again of the highest quality!), including a gorgeous little Smeg fridge, just right for keeping our drinks cool! We would loved to have lit the gorgeous little wood-burner in the corner of the hut, but we were lucky enough to have excellent weather, so that will have to wait till our next visit when it is likely to be much cooler. The siting of the hut was equally impressive - in the middle of a wild flower orchard with peace and quiet all round. A very special addition was a firepit especially for our use, with outdoor seating (and marshmallows for toasting too!). What a fantastic way to end the day....with the homemade cider made by Andrew! Andrew and Janet were both so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have achieved so much in decorating 'Old Tinny' so beautifully and by adding all the little extras. Thank you very much for being such great hosts. We will definitely be back!! (already looking for some 'orphan' nights!)
Utterly beautiful! My other half booked us a night at the Stamford cider huts as a birthday gift & WOW we were blown away. We stayed in Burghley mouse hut it was beautiful everything we needed and more so cosy & homely we didn't want to leave. The little treasure hunt was a lovely touch as well as the swing which we had fun using even at the age of 32.
This really is a magical escape. Photos don't do it justice. At first we thought prices were quite high (probably COVID driven) but this is the best shepherds hut I've stayed in and is worth every penny. The thought that goes into everything makes it so special, from the treasure hunt to find the bottle of fizz to the hut with marshmallows roasting over the fire pit in the evening. The tandem was also so much fun (a true test of a relationship!). We only wished that it was available so we could have stayed a second night. Andrew delivered us locally made cider too which was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway.
An absolutely gorgeous getaway. The hut is set in a beautiful wildflower meadow and it had everything we needed. There were some lovely thoughtful touches such as marshmallows for the fire and homemade cider to drink. The communication was great and Andrew was really friendly. We used the tandem to cycle to the local pub which was a definite highlight. We had a lovely time and wish we could have stayed longer!
Amazing place with a great host.
Me and my partner stayed here only an evening but what a magical place to be.
Rather somewhere to simply rest your head, there's ample to do around Burghley Mouse (literally around the hut).
We arrived in good time and after settling in, explored the immediate area, the hut itself is surround by an Apple Orchard (Andrew makes his own Cider). There is a beautiful oak tree to the right of the hut with a swing fastened to one of the main branches. We spent some of the evening swinging whilst watching the sunset enjoying a glass of prosecco (found on a treasure hunt). Once it got dark we got cosy next to the fire pit toasting marshmallows, stargazing and listening to wildlife.
I wish we had more time to also explore the walks and try out the tandem bike.
Overall it was truly magical stay and perfect for a romantic getaway, an escape from hustle and bustle. We can't wait to come back soon (and this time for longer). 🙂
Remarkably good...spacious, superbly equipped, private, cool, warm, superfast wifi, amazing wild meadow outside and lovely view....
Can't recommend highly enough...will be back (a few times)
We stayed here for our mini-moon after our wedding and it was a beautiful, romantic retreat away from the world! Absolutely gorgeous scenery surrounding the hut and we loved one of the recommended walks from the host. Location is great as only a short drive from the picturesque market town of Stamford as well as Burghley house. The hut itself was very clean and luxurious, complete with Smeg fridge, microwave and electrical/portable hob. Would love to return and would highly recommend. Had no need to interact with the hosts in person but we were made to feel very welcome with all the little touches and information provided at the hut.
This is the second time that we have stayed here and it was just as good if not better than the first time.
Stunning location and beautiful accommodation to a very high spec.
The addition of the seating area with fire pit close to the shepherd's hut is a really nice touch with everything you could wish for for a relaxing evening (marshmallows included!)
Truly beautiful place to stay would highly recommend a night or two here super cosy and so peaceful.
After having stayed in shepherd's huts before in Yorkshire, we were looking forward to our 2 night staycation in the Burghley Mouse cider hut. We were not dissapointed it was fabulous.
The hut was beautifully decorated and furnished, with complete comfort and attention to detail in every respect, even a little smeg refrigerator to keep the prosecco (from the prosecco hunt) cool. The bed was super comfy too.
Andrew and Janet were lovely welcoming hosts, snd couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating.
Will definitely go again.
A surprise 2 night stay was planned for my daughter and her partner. They had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed the facilities provided in Old Tinny, which are first class. Careful thought has been given to every little detail and included a treasure hunt and cosy evenings at the arbour toasting marshmallows around the fire pit. They also enjoyed a special meal at the Toby Norris pub in Stamford.
Although we only stayed for 2 nights, we had a wonderful time. Burghley Mouse was cosy, homely & well equipped. Andrew & Janet made us feel very welcome & we can highly recommend their home made cider! Thank you for a wonderful stay & good luck with the new orchard!
Such a lovely experience at the Cider Huts. Set in a beautiful wildflower orchard and kitted out with everything you need plus some additional thoughtful details.
The hut is decorated to a very high spec which makes your stay very luxurious! The orchard is peaceful and relaxing- the perfect place for a getaway from busy life.
There's a fire pit, tandem and even a treasure hunt that we didn't get a chance to do any of so I'm looking forward to booking again to try those!
There's parking for two cars per hut and Stamford is a short drive away. Andrew the owner, was super nice and made us feel very welcome 🙏🏼
Thank you for a lovely stay… we can't wait to return!
We were so lucky to have found these beautiful cider huts one day while browsing on Facebook. We booked as a birthday treat and for a well deserved break from the kids! The booking system was so easy (we booked directly through their own site) and the communication with the owners was excellent from start to finish. The huts are so easy to find. This was thankfully down to Andrew's clear directions on the morning we set out. On arrival the huts completely outlived our expectations. Both huts are situated in a gorgeous orchard, which was completely filled with wild flowers. It was truly breathtaking and magical!
We were lucky to stay in 'Old Tinny'. The hut was so beautifully decorated and had a 5 star luxury feel. So much thought has been given to the decoration and the finishing of the hut. Inside it felt so spacious and not at all cramped. Both my partner and I are tall and we had loads of room. It was so lovely having lots of facilities, such as a fridge, tv, tea and coffee. The bed was huge and had 5 star bedding and cushions (felt so luxurious) and the bathroom was amazing (plenty of hot water). There is the most beautiful wood burner inside, though we didn't need to use it. The thought the owners have given to ensuring a truly magical experience for their guests was second to none. From the treasure hunt to find the bottle of Prosecco to the Arbour with fire pit and marshmallows to the home made scrumpy delivered the next morning. Andrew provided us with lots of useful information from local walks to eateries. We explored Stamford which is only around 5 miles away and has lots of lovely shops, restaurants and bars.
On departure we were really sad to leave such a special place. I can not recommend these huts enough. If you want a break from the hustle and bustle of life, in the most romantic of settings with pure luxury thrown in then these are definitely for you. We would both come back in a heartbeat.
Wow ! just had a wonderful 2 night stay in Burley Mouse. Such a wonderful tranquil place to stay. The hut sits amongst a wildflower meadow with wonderful views to the fields beyond. I have stayed in several Shepherd Hugs, but this was the best one by far. It has everything you need and is wonderfully presented and decorated. Beautiful, just beautiful!
The perfect place to relax! The Burghley Mouse is in the most glorious setting, an orchard full of wildflowers with hidden treats like fire pits, arbours and a swing. The interior of the hut feels luxurious and has everything that is needed. The extra special touches of the homemade cider and the treasure hunt made this a stay to remember. Thank you to the friendly hosts!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Old Tinny. We loved all the attention to detail and how beautiful the setting was. The fire pit and marshmallows were a wonderful treat. The Shepherd's Hut was perfectly located for lovely countryside walks. Andrew was really helpful and gave us lots of good suggestions for where to go and where to eat. We'd love to come back and stay again.
A bit of piece and quiet from the world.
Andrew was a great host, beautiful setting and Old Tinny was fully equipped with everything we needed.
We had a wonderful anniversary weekend at Burghley Mouse. We had a lovely welcome from Andrew, followed by a very sweet treasure hunt (many thanks for the non alcoholic replacement!). We had a hilarious time giving the tandem bike a go then a very romantic picnic by the arbor. Many thanks to Andrew for the walking route recommendations - we managed Freddy's Favourite Walk in the hot weather and was a truly stunning walk. The local village of Stamford and Burghley House were very nice options for a day trip if you can peel yourself away from the place!
Definitely recommend this place. First-class host and the hit is so comfortable. Treasure hunt on arrival to find the prize was perfect. So many great touches and we will certainly be returning thanks Andrew
Five stars for five star accommodation and hospitality. I would have started with Wow, wow but Rob beat me to that one. Please read everyone's comments as they are spot on and the reason Why I chose to book two nights at the Cider huts. I will come from a different angle with the Cider huts….ideal location if you are a cycling enthusiast. Lovely long straight country roads with minimal traffic on them. Absolutely Perfect. I've ticked some items off my bucket list while stopping in Old Tinny but did not get Mrs G on the tandem… maybe next time. Ps Old Tinny has its own little owl… sitting in the apple tree opposite the 5 bar gate… enjoy. We certainly did.
Had a great time at the Old Tinny. Set in a beautiful location and fully equipped to a high standard. Lovely hot powerful shower and really comfy bed. We enjoyed the treasure hunt and drinking the Prosecco and toasting the marchmallows over the gas firepit by the arbour. We walked in to Stamford on Hereward way, 5.5 miles. Lovely walk, but took a taxi back. Borrowed the tandem and rode to the Fitzwilliam in Marholm. We would have stopped in The White Hart, that was a lot closer, but it was not open that afternoon (Tuesday). Would happily recommend staying at the Cider Huts to everyone. Andrew was very friendly and helpful.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Well located for both getting away from it all and visiting local places of interest. The shepherd's hut was beautifully furnished, well maintained and equipped. The hosts were friendly and thoughtful with some added extras such as some homemade cider. I will definitely return and recommend the Burghley Mouse to everyone!
Me and my partner stayed at Old Tinny for my partner's birthday weekend. It was everything that we had hoped for. A beautifully designed place with a cosy feel, very quiet and peaceful and lovely scenery. We were made to feel very welcome. We received a bottle of prosecco after a very fun treasure hunt which we felt was very unique and enjoyable. Overall a very beautiful place owned by very lovely people. Couldn't recommend enough.
What can I say, what a brilliant little place. Andrew was great with a very warm welcome upon arrival. The Shepherd's huts are gorgeous, a lot of time and effort has been put in to them. Stamford town is a 10-minute taxi ride or you have a choice of walks or a tandem that was available. My wife and I will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.
Easy to find, we parked off the road in a dedicated space (space for our visitor the next day), a short stroll through the lovely Grange Farm courtyard and wildflower meadow to our Cider Hut at the back of the meadow. Very well suited to give privacy but with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. A mighty oak stands guard next to us, with a lovely swing attached. Inside the Hut is very clean and well appointed, large comfy double bed, soft linen, plenty of pillows and cushions. The kitchen has enough facilities to cook an easy meal, we took a couple of Mindful Chef recipe boxes so had all the ingredients for nice evening meals. Treasure hunt resulted in a bottle of Prosecco, supplemented when host Andrew brought us a couple of bottles of cider made on the farm - delicious! Bathroom with nice large sink and walk-in shower. The hot water could have been a tad hotter, but still gave a nice shower. Heavy rain overnight was amusingly noisy on the corrugated iron roof! A decent flat screen TV provided entertainment one evening watching Euro 2020. Will return again!
Such a lovely little place, and so much love has gone into every detail. Andrew went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. We would have loved to stay longer, and I'm sure there will be a next time!
The Burghley Mouse is delightful. Everything has been thought of and is of the highest standard. The wildflower meadow is stunning. Andrew is a great host. He is there if you need anything but otherwise you are left alone to enjoy the hut and it’s lovely surroundings. I didn’t want to leave.
This was quite possibly one of the most amazing short breaks that we’ve had. The hosts are amazing! So thoughtful and friendly. The accommodation was perfect. The attention to detail was amazing and the accommodation was exceptionally clean and tidy. The amount of thought and care that has gone into the setup is remarkable. We loved the “treasure hunt” to unlock the bottle of Prosecco! The arbour alongside the shepherds hut was a lovely little touch. It mean we could hide ourselves away with a fire fit and toast marshmallows and sip Prosecco in isolation and soak up the fresh air and views. We couldn’t have asked for more. We highly recommend starting and we will certainly be booking again in the future.
I've wanted to stay in a shepherd's hut for so many years and I have to admit it was definitely worth the wait to stay at the magical Burghley Mouse. It's absolutely stunning inside - Andrew and Janet have provided everything you could wish for and more. The setting is spectacular and the hut is hidden within a beautiful wild flower meadow next to a swing on a huge oak tree... It was magical and my only regret was that I hadn't booked to stay for even longer.
Had a lovely relaxing long weekend in Burghley Mouse among the wild flowers. Loved the little touches like the treasure hunt and marshmallows to toast and the hut itself is just delightful with everything you could need. Did a great walk into Stamford which is a very pretty place. Thank you.
A delightful place to stay. Everything has been thought of and is of the highest standard. The new wildflower meadow is stunning. Thank you Andrew, you are a great host. My only worry is that my stay at the Burghley Mouse has spoiled me for anywhere else!
From start to finish we had a brilliant experience! Booking was simple, quick and efficient. When we arrived, the cider hut is located in a lovely field, beautiful views, in a very relaxed surrounding area. The hut itself is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, everything had been thought of! Even down to welcomed refreshments of homemade cider and also Prosecco. We have recommended to all of our friends and family and will certainly be back! Thank you!
A delightful place to stay. Everything has been thought of and is of the highest standard. The new wildflower meadow is stunning. Thank you Andrew, you are a great host. My only worry is that my stay at the Burghley Mouse has spoiled me for anywhere else!
A lovely place to get away and relax. The accommodations was excellent, everything has been considered. Looking forward to booking another stay here sometime.
We have had a magical time staying in the cider hut Burghley Mouse . From Toasting marshmallows to having a swing under the old oak tree. The wildflower meadow just made it so special.
I would recommend this for any couple looking for a great romantic escape.
Myself and my partner have just had the most amazing 2 nights in Burghley Mouse. The hut is beautiful, so welcoming and cosy, stood in a meadow of wild flowers. The owner Andrew was so accommodating, to the point we asked where the local shop was to get some milk and he offered to get it as he was nipping out for some bits anyway!
There is use of a tandem while at the huts which was a lot of fun in the glorious sunshine and countryside, and a swing next to the hut! The arbor, a little walk from the hut, was equipped with marshmallows for toasting on the fire pit! And the treasure hunt for some hidden bubbly is a wonderful touch!
Although we were so fortunate to have the summer weather, I can honestly say it would have been just as much a great getaway if it had rained! We will definitely be coming back for a more visits!
I had such an amazing stay at the Old Tinny, it was exactly what I needed. The huts are amazing and the setting is beautiful. Andrew has thought of everything I felt really spoiled with the extra thoughtful touches and I really appreciated the walk routes he shared.
Amazing stay in Old Tinny! The shepards hut itself is lovely, has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, the bed was super comfortable - probably one of the best nights sleep I've had staying away from home. It's surrounded by beautiful wildflowers, I spent the majority of our time sitting outside, reading a book enjoying the landscape. Andrew was a great host, brought us over a couple of bottles of his lovely cider and gave us some walking routes to try out. Came back from out trip feeling so relaxed and wanting to go back again! Would definitely recommend a stay in Old Tinny and hoping to visit again ourselves.
Lovely peaceful few days away from the daily grind for my husbands birthday. The shepherds hut is beautifully done with everything you need during your stay, it's very comfortable and is set in lovely surroundings of wild flowers. The arbour and outside fire make a great addition too! Easy to get to local places, Stamford town was great with some good pubs, restaurants and lovely independent shops. We visited Burghley house and gardens too, great place to look around-we took a picnic.
It gave us just the break we needed. Fabulous rural location with some pretty walks from the doorstep. The shepherd’s hut was beautifully decorated and the host was extremely helpful with suggestions. Even though the other hut was a few metres away in the orchard we never bumped into each other and so we still felt secluded. The prosecco treasure hunt and homemade cider were lovely touches. The bed was super comfy, with high quality linen. Toasting marshmallows on the fire pit was a perfect end to the day.
Wonderful! Every detail was perfect. The shepherds hut was spotless, tastefully decorated, wonderful bed linen and comfortable bed. The treasure hunt upon arrival was so much fun and the opportunity to sit out in the evening and roast marshmallows by the fire made for the perfect end to the day.
It is hard to explain how wonderful our stay was. The only way to totally appreciate how special it is, is to book and experience it for yourself. Looking to book again for later in the year.
Andrew’s place was amazing! It’s real luxury glamping (including a very comfortable bed and lovely shower) with the countryside all around you! The kitchen has everything you need - we managed to cook dinner and breakfast - and the little log burner is wonderful. We also really loved sitting in the arbour in the evenings with the fire pit, eating marshmallows. The little treasure hunt was also a lovely touch. Andrew’s communication via (Hidden by Airbnb) was great and we really enjoyed the walk he suggested. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would certainly book again!
What a fantastic few days at this lovely little hut! Old Tinny was just what we were looking for... a relaxing, peaceful stay tucked away in our own little bubble. Andrew was an absolutely fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble and the little touches really made the trip feel special. We cannot wait to return, and hope to do so in the near future!
Wonderful! Every detail was perfect. The shepherds hut was spotless, tastefully decorated, wonderful bed linen and comfortable bed. The treasure hunt upon arrival was so much fun and the opportunity to sit out in the evening and roast marshmallows by the fire made for the perfect end to the day.
Clear instructions, very comfortable hut, fun welcome game, all mid cons. Lovely to have the tandem. Good communication with owner
We had a lovely weekend in the Stamford Cider Huts despite the weather being very cold and wet for May. The wood burner heated the hut quickly and kept us cosy and the bed was exceptionally comfortable so it felt more like a 5 star hotel than a Shepherd’s Hut. Everything was good quality and felt luxurious from down pillows and duvet to the crockery and the little touches like the treasure hunt and marshmallows to toast over the fire outside made it feel really special. We’d definitely come back, and hopefully it won’t rain so much next time so we can enjoy eating outside!
Absolutely perfect! The shepherd huts are so beautiful and tastefully furnished. Everything has been carefully considered and the attention to detail is really impressive. Andrew ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy a lovely stay and gave some great recommendations for local walks and pubs. Excellent hospitality - would 100% recommend.
We had a gorgeous 2 night stay in Burghley Mouse, it was everything we needed to unwind and recharge, we couldn’t have asked for any more! Beautifully positioned with views of countryside and lovely lambs. We especially enjoyed the Prosecco treasure hunt. Recommend walking into Stamford (5 mile) for a mooch.. Andrew offered knowledge of local walks and even a self drawn map, so helpful.
Thank you!
A lovely place to visit to get away from the world. Visited for a mini holiday in celebration of finishing University and was the perfect location to be able to relax and forget about things for a while.
Hosts really friendly, and the accommodation has everything you need. My particular highlight was watching the lambs running around the fields next to the huts.
What a wonderful part of the world! We had an amazing 2 night stay in Burghley Mouse cider hut. Everything had been thought of from the stunning decor to the wood burner, heated towel rack, blanket by the fire pit.... the list goes on.
The location is idyllic and Andrew was a brilliant host who made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
Best shepherd’s hut! Booked Andrew’s place to surprise my husband for his birthday. We had an amazing time and enjoyed all the facilities. The treasure hunt, wood burner, swing, and the fire pit made it more special. The en suite shower room/toilet was very convenient. It was good value for money and the setting was great. Andrew was very accommodating and even helped me with the surprise for my husband. He got tips for walking routes and local pubs. We will definitely come back.
Wow! Wow! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left (which we didn't want to do!) the Cider Huts were beyond our wildest dreams. We loved every aspect of 2 night stay! Comfy, warm, clean, lovely location. Just perfect. So good have booked again to go back in Spring time.
We had a great stay at Burghley Mouse! It was beautifully clean and very peaceful, and Andrew was a great host. We loved the small touches such as the marshmallows and the blanket for the evening fire pit, as well as the lovely treasure hunt! The bathroom was amazing and it was great to feel like we could get away from it all but still have Netflix on the TV too! Thanks for a wonderful trip!
Incredibly relaxing, peaceful and restorative!
Very enjoyable stay - warm & cosy despite freezing temps outside. Super helpful host with local knowledge for walks & food 🙂
Our stay in the Cider Huts, Old Tinny, this Autumn was a cosy and comfortable break. The wood burner kept us warm and the beautifully decorated hut was lovely. The rural village location close to pubs and Stamford made it an ideal place for weekend away.
We had the most amazing time at Burghley Mouse which has every little luxury you could ever want in a Shepherd's Hut. Toasting marshmallows over the campfire while sharing the bottle of 'treasure hunt' Prosecco was a particular highlight! Andrew was a fantastic host and even left some mulled cider for us on the second night. A much needed lovely, peaceful escape - thank you!
We stayed for 2 nights in one of the shepherd's huts. The hut was beautifully kitted out, with luxury in every corner. We loved waking up (in the extremely comfortable bed) with the view of the orchard sipping on a cup of tea. Andrew made a great host, recommending a circular local walk right from the hut, which was lovely. We highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!
My girlfriend and I had a lovely 3 night stay in the Burghley Mouse Shepherd’s Hut. It did not disappoint and made a great base to spend a long weekend exploring the local area. Andrew, the owner, was very welcoming and even picked us some chestnuts and provided marshmallows to roast on the outdoor gas fire. He also gave us some directions for a local walk around the nearby villages. We spent a day in Stamford, lovely town to mooch in the shops and plenty of cafes for afternoon tea. We booked a table at Tobie Norris, also recommended by Andrew, a quirky little pub with a delicious menu! We would also recommend a walk around Rutland Water, 20 minute drive away. A much needed little getaway, would defiantly recommend to anyone!
Many thanks to Andrew for his wonderful hospitality and for the amount of effort shown to make it a pleasant stay. The ‘Old Tinny’ was beautifully decorated, and equipped nicely for a short stay. All the details had been thought through and you can tell Andrew puts a lot of love and care into this. Can not recommend highly enough - we will be visiting again soon, that’s for certain. Thanks again!
The Cider Huts were recommended by a friend that stayed earlier in the year, and we certainly were not disappointed. We stayed in 'Old Tinny', and the experience started as soon as we pulled up into our private parking space, and walked through into the orchard. You immediately feel a million miles away from the daily grind, which was very welcome in these 'Covid' times. Whilst this wasn't a consideration when we booked, being in an environment where the current situation does not have to be thought about is an added bonus. 'Old Tinny' itself IS a luxury shepherds hut, the high-end hotel spec that is advertised is delivered and some! We had a mixed bag of weather, but on the evening when it was torrential rain, it really added to the cosiness of the hut. Everything you need is to hand, and lovely little accessories make it very homely, but classy. I was really surprised by the warmth of the hut, with a cast-iron heater and wood burner, neither of which were needed, we did however use the wood-burner for effect. There are two outdoor seating areas, one of which has a small fire-pit (gas) with a chestnut pan and marshmallow forks for a little outdoor treat. NOTE:This fire-pit was gas lit and not to be used for general cooking. A lot of thought has gone into the interior and exterior of these shepherds huts to make it an experience, not just a weekend away. As I booked it, my husband wasn't too sure what to expect and was a little hesitant, but he was really impressed by the standard of accommodation, even the bathroom surpassed expectations, it really is amazing how all if it fits so well into such a small space, without feeling cramped and was impeccably clean. Andrew was to hand if we needed anything, and his itinerary on the website was very useful as a starting point to explore. It would be very lovely to keep this place a secret, as I am sure the more people that stay here, the more it will get recommended and booked up quickly. So, I wish Andrew and his family the very best with their shepherd hut experiences, and will take a look at the diary as to when we can visit again, as I think these huts can bring a different experience all year round.
Just had a two night stay in Old Tinny, which is absolutely immaculate. Set in a lovely peaceful orchard and supplied with fire wood, marshmallows & chestnuts for toasting. Lovely and toasty hut even when it’s windy outside. Everything you need to cook a basic meal - single electric job, toaster, kettle and microwave. A treasure hunt to find a bottle of Prosecco and then two mulled ciders whilst we were there. All in all a perfect break in these very strange and confusing times. We would definitely go back and would love to see it in a different season. Andrew was really helpful, I wish we stayed longer to really do some more exploring.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burghley Mouse 'Cider Hut'. Situated amongst a new apple orchard even the walk to the hut is beautiful. Wonderfully decorated and filled with little touches that really make a difference, including a little prosecco treasure hunt! A perfect cosy stay, we didn't want to leave!
Just back from a fabulously relaxing and peaceful stay at Old Tinny. Beautifully decorated with lovely little touches: the host Andrew even brought us some chestnuts to roast with the marshmallows. A comfortable bed and cute little log burner meant we were more than warm enough. It’s as fabulous as any posh hotel room only with added facilities (even a Smeg fridge) so you can cook yourself...no need to leave! We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary made all the nicer after completing the treasure hunt! 🥂 Highly recommend Cider Huts, thank you so much for a really lovely stay.
One of the most beautiful holidays we've ever enjoyed. I've never felt more relaxed, more inspired and more peaceful than I did after a weekend here. The hut was impeccable, so much luxury packed into such a small space and all the little touches just made it all the more special. The swing seat, the hidden TV and, of course, the prosecco hunt were all magical. I didn't want to leave.
We had a great time staying in Burghley Mouse on Grange Farm! Everything was perfect. It couldn't have been any better! The location, the beautiful surrounding countryside and it was only a short drive into the historical Stamford Town! The Cider Hut is in a pretty meadow very secluded and not overlooked it was very well equipped with everything we needed including a bottle of fizz after we'd completed the Prosecco Hunt which was fun! We visited Burghley House and Gardens which is stunning and in beautiful grounds. Andrew the owner was very helpful and recommended places to eat in Stamford. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back in the Springtime!
This stylish and comfortable Shepherd’s hut over looking the beautiful countryside was an absolutely 5 star get away which I couldn’t recommend more heartily. I will definitely be coming back.
My husband and I stayed in Old Tinny for our anniversary last weekend. Well what can I say, it’s absolutely amazing. The location is perfect. Surrounded by trees and fields. It’s so peaceful. When we arrived we did the “Prosecco hunt” which made us feel really welcome and sat listening to the birds whilst drinking a glass of bubbly 🙂 We enjoyed the wood burner that night and when we ran out of wood, Andrew was really accommodating and came straight away. The shower is really powerful and shower gel is provided. The small touches make such a difference. It’s just a short walk to the next village and a 15 minute drive in to the town of Stamford. We will definitely be coming back!!
We had such a lovely time staying at the Old Tinny. It massively exceeded our expectations. Andrew was a great host - very accommodating. It is located in a tranquil setting and beautifully designed. Couldn’t recommend staying here enough! I look forward to visiting again!
Delightful two night stay . The Hut is adorable . Excellent facilities inside , a SMEG fridge that keeps your Prosseco nice and chilled , toaster , kettle and a single electric hob that we cooked bacon and eggs on in the morning . Cosy double bed with a TV if you want with Netflix provided free. Fold down table and chairs inside , next to a log burner that heats the place up in no time . The bathroom features a toilet , sink and lovely shower with piping hot water at the other end of the hut . Set in a young orchard next to a beautiful Oak tree . We saw several different birds around including Red Kites Andrew was very helpful and available either in person or via text . Tandem bike was fun to ride up to nearby Burghley House . Freddie’s favourite walk was 1hr15 and most enjoyable and we’d recommend. Overall fantastic place to stay . Did not want to leave. Nearly White Hart pub in Nearby Ufford was lovely for food and drinking
Really was an idyllic spot in the Stamford country side. Peaceful and Romantic! Beautifully designed cider hut with some very modern furniture and some classic antiques too!! Owners were great, prior to arriving - communication was 10/10 and they even helped us out with picking somewhere for dinner when we arrived!
We spent 3 nights in Old Tinny, as a little mini moon following our wedding, and it was delightful. Every little touch was thought of, and we enjoyed the Prosecco hunt. We didn’t have the best weather, but sipping on the Prosecco with the fire lit was so lovely. On one of our three nights the rain had a break and we loved sitting in the arbour toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. The hut is super cosy, with a comfortable bed and good shower. The microwave and hot plate meant we didn’t have to always eat out, though we did have some lovely food at Tobie Norris in Stamford and enjoyed some of the little coffee shops. Andrew was a great host, making useful suggestions to fill our time, and there to answer any questions we might have. Between showers we had a trip to Burghley House and Gardens, explored Stamford, and had a nice walk recommend by Andrew. Will definitely plan to come back!
What a fantastic weekend away in The Old Tinny. Andrew couldn't have been more accommodating for us throughout. If you have the opportunity - using the tandem to bike to the pub is lots of fun and toasting marshmallows after the prosseco hunt as the sunsets on the first night definitely will have lasting memories of our happy stay. It was perfect, The area is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. we have recommended this already to many family and friends who are booking stays and we will be back as we can't wait to stay in such a wonderful place all over again.

I’m not one for roughing it - I like my creature comforts. Fortunately Old Tinny provided them in abundance during our 2 night stay. This beautifully appointed Shepherd’s Hut has a well equipped kitchen, a luxurious double bed and a shower room that wouldn’t be out of place in an upmarket hotel. During our stay enjoyed a level 5 mile walk along the Hereward Way into Stamford as well a visit to nearby Burghley House. Best of all however, is the location of Old Tinny in a stunning wild flower meadow - a brilliant place to sit and enjoy the bottle of Prosecco that we won by completing a fun - but very easy - treasure hunt set by the owners.
We had the most amazing stay at Burghley Mouse this weekend. The hut is located in the beautiful countryside making this a very peaceful getaway. The gorgeous wildflower meadow surrounding the hut creates an idyllic scene and is a beautiful view in the morning, especially in the sunshine. The hut is actually very spacious and furnished stylishly. The host, Andrew is very helpful and friendly. He gave us instructions for a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside that passes Holes & Hills nature reserve and Walcot Hall. The Prosecco hunt was a fun touch that completed a perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave! Would definitely recommend Burghley Mouse.
A very beautiful and tranquil place to be. The Cider Huts are kitted out to a high standard and a great place for a short break.
Thanks so much for an incredible stay in your beautiful huts in the countryside! We really enjoyed the stunning orchard.
It was idyllic - very pretty place, quality accommodation, super comfortable and the wild flower meadow was truly wonderful. Definitely coming back.
My partner and I had a wonderful two nights away at the Burghley Mouse. Even upon arrival, it exceeded the expectations we had from the pictures. The cider hut is placed within a wild-flower meadow, which was absolutely idyllic. The accommodation was so charming and spotless. We were happy with the amenities, including a microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery, knives, a chopping board, a pot, a frying pan, washing up and cleaning equipment. The Prosecco challenge was so much fun too. We were given a suggested walk by the host, which we did on the first night. We also watched some television on the nicely tucked away screen. The next day we went to Stamford for the day which was a 15 minute drive. Once coming back, we put the wood burner on, which was easy to use as all the wood and equipment was left for you to set up very quickly. It quickly warmed the hut up, and we ended up coming to the conclusion that the heat may not be needed in the summer months! There is also an iron radiator you can plug in as an alternative to the wood burner. The final morning was a slow one, and we had a cup of tea and breakfast outside. It was such a peaceful, beautiful stay, can’t recommend it enough!
Wow. So much beauty. And so much luxury in such a small space. It was perfect. We will most definitely return.
Burghley Mouse was the perfect way to spend our anniversary break. We’ve stayed in many shepherds huts before but none have been as thoughtfully or beautifully executed. The hut is set within a wildflower apple orchard which is absolutely stunning come rain or shine.
What a TRULY magical experience. We had an incredibly delightful time, in the most amazing setting, and a truly fabulous Cider Hut. Thank you!
We stayed here at the weekend for our anniversary and it was beautiful, the setting is picturesque and the photos don't do it justice. Also Andrew was a very friendly host and willing to help in any way he could. Brilliant stay. Thank you
Wow, what a very special place to stay. Highly recommended and fantastic hosts too with great communication. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!
Old Tinny is nearby to many lovely walks and only a short cycle to the iconic town of Stamford. There are many thoughtful touches to the property including the use of a tandem bike which was a highlight of our holiday! The hut hosts an impressive en-suite with powerful shower, as well as a small kitchen with one hot plate. (We were surprised to find so many amenities in such a small hut). Overall a perfect and unforgettable stay in a quiet and beautiful country location! Would recommend 100x over!
We had a wonderful time staying in Old Tinny we plan on telling friends and family to come. DEFINITELY coming back ourselves ASAP
MANY THANKS for letting us stay in Burghley Mouse, it was absolutely delightful.
The Prosecco Hunt was an unexpected and incredibly welcome surprise too, thank you.
Lets first talk about all of the negatives of staying here: ...nothing. Ok now that's out of the way. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The space is beautiful, relaxing, calm and really gets you back to nature. It has every little convenience you could wish for and the bathroom is unbelievable for the size. Andrew is an excellent and communicative host who just wants you to have a fantastic time. Would I recommend this clean, stunning, relaxing place to anyone for a romantic (or otherwise) getaway? Yes. Absolutely!
We would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the countryside, wish we’d stayed longer!
